Race starts, check-in and briefing Batemans Bay Paddle Challenge 2017
The Open & Masters Marathon all classes (26km) race will commence at 10.30am. All check-in must be completed on Friday night at Korners Park, Batemans Bay (up until 9pm) or up to and no later than 30 minutes before race briefing on Saturday morning. Race briefing: 10.10am.
The 1/2 Marathon all classes (13km) race will commence at 11.15am. All check-in must be completed on Friday night at Korners Park, Batemans Bay (up until 9pm) or up to and no later than 30 minutes before race briefing on Saturday morning. Race briefing: 10.50am.
The Youth Race and Paddle Fun Run all classes (8km) race will commence at 11.45am. All check-in must be completed on Friday night at Korners Park, Batemans Bay (up until 9pm) or up to and no later than 30 minutes before race briefing on Saturday morning. Race briefing: 11.20am.
Family Double Kayak Run (2km) will commence at 12.00pm. There will be multiple paddle runs but the first paddle will commence at 12.00 and all others will be 30 minutes apart. Last race will be at 1 or 1.30 pm depending on numbers.
Event briefing will occur before each commencement.

Always wanted to try out a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP)? South Coast Paddler has an exhibit space at the Batemans Bay Paddle Challenge and is going to hire out SUP’s for only $20 for 1 hour. Give it a go on Saturday 6 May 2017!!
South Coast Paddlers will also have kayaks/skis for people to trial on the water and for sale. They supply paddlers from beginners to champions on the beautiful NSW South Coast, with world class brands such as Epic Kayaks, Fenn, Think Kayaks, Bic Sports, Knysna and Vaikobi.
Being the son of the CEO of Surf Life Saving Australia/President of World Life Saving, surrounded by Champion paddlers such as family friends like Olympic legend Dennis Green and every Iron Man known, Damo Staunton was destined to get involved in the sport of paddling. After founding the MAKAI Paddlers Society in 2011 with Outrigger paddler Paul Watkins, he started South Coast Paddlers on the NSW South Coast.
30 prizes with a total prize pool value of $3500 will all be up for grabs in the Lucky Boat Prize Draw (after the presentation) on Saturday 6 May.
These prizes will be drawn from all registrations for the Batemans Bay Paddle Challenge (except 2km Fun Run).

Paddle Fun Run – A Day on the Water – multi-person (max 3) or single seat vessel run
If you like to paddle 8km but you are a less competitive type, join in on this Paddle Fun Run! Just a fun day on the water, with multiple people (max 3) in a vessel or just by yourself in a single seater. Batemans Bay Bridge up-stream, turn around marker buoys and return 8km. The winner receives a prize of up to $150 in value (cash or voucher) and every paddler will also go into the Lucky Boat Prize Draw with prizes totalling $3500 in value.
