The Batemans Bay Paddle Challenge 27th & 28th April 2018

Friday 27 April 2017 – Check-in and Event Launch Dinner

Friday Night is a very special evening and we would love you to join us for a sit down dinner with our special guest speaker Robin Bell. Robin has competed in three summer Olympics and has won a bronze medal in the C1 event in Beijing in 2008. He also won the overall world cup title in C1 in 2005 & 2008. Early race check-in will be from 5pm-7pm at the Coachhouse Marina Resort, 49 Beach Road, Batemans Bay. Take the pressure off and check in before race day. Check-in on race day will be at Korners Park the location of the event.

Saturday 28 April 2018 – It’s Time to Relax.

Presentation will be at 2.30pm

Between 3-4.45pm before we warm you up beside the Bonfire we have off-shore entertainment

3.00pm – Canoe Polo Demonstration
3.20pm – Stand Up Paddle Board Demonstration
3.45pm – Bhunduu Raft Race. Local businesses are fundraising for the Tathra Bush Fire Appeal

From 5-9pm it’s time to relax and hang out around our cosy bonfire and firepits, fire twirlers, listening to live bands, eating yummy food from our local food stalls, and then closing with our fireworks extravaganza. After a day of racing you will deserve a night of relaxation and fun. Everyone is welcome and the local community are invited along to share in the occasion. So bring your family and friends and chill back by the warmth of the bonfire and friendly festive atmosphere.


Race Day Saturday 28 April 2018

All participants must familiarise themselves with event conditions prior to participating in the event. Payment of the entry fee and registration are taken as your acceptance of those conditions.

Final details of the program will be confirmed on this website. If participants have provided a contact e-mail address, any major change to the program will be provided in advance by e-mail or text message.

Race check-in on race day will be Korners Park, Batemans Bay the location for the event. All check-in must be carried out or up to and no later than 30 minutes before your specific race briefing on Saturday morning. For race and briefing details check this page.

On Saturday 28 April, elite paddlers start time will be approximately 10.00am. Following the Bridge2Bridge course from the Batemans Bay Bridge to Nelligen Bridge and return. Following along the picturesque Clyde River via Rocky Point, Big Island, Little Island, Razorback Rock and Nelligen,  approximately 26kms return.

The first race being the Open Marathon will commence at 10.00am. To view all course and race details click here

The sandy shore and grassed banks of the Clyde River is our marshaling area, located at Korners Park on the North-side of the Batemans Bay Bridge. Ideally located for this activity with beach access for both paddlers and kids. Food stalls and music will entertain us all day. It’s a quick walk across the Batemans Bay bridge to the centre of the shopping district. The bridge Plaza is just across the bridge and is our main shopping precinct.

On course commentary will keep the crowds informed of our progress and we are providing support pre-race for vehicle parking, vessel unloading, marshaling and post-race stacking at the loading beach. On site will be support tents and marquees offering food and refreshment and  a number of local industry support activities.

* Kids activities on the beach carried out by BCF Batemans Bay including Casting Competition and Colouring Competition. Great prizes to be won.
* Stand up Paddle Board hire at only $20 per hour. Supplied by South Coast Paddler.

Suggested vehicle parking arrangements

There will be no event duration parking permitted at the Korners Park area.  Participants can access Korners Park car park area to unload watercraft and gear, but you must remove vehicles to other assigned parking areas.

Limited street parking on Wharf Road will be available.

Dedicated event parking will be provided within the Wharf Road area and overflow parking will be available at Mackay Park on the west side of the highway opposite the main town centre.

Volunteers will direct you to all the designated and available parking.
